Back to Work, With Some Changes

Updated: Oct 7, 2020

Okay, a lot of stuff has happened in the last week. I have two big pieces of news.

1. I'm scheduling appointments again. I got word on Thursdaythe 18th that massage businesses can reopen in LA County. I'm delighted that I may be seeing some of you soon and I can get back to my work, which I love. But...

2. I've given up my office space and will only be doing house calls. I just couldn't see any way to spend an hour or more with a client in an enclosed space with no ventilation and have that be safe. I'm sorry to leave Pilates Sports Center after a wonderful year there, but it's for the best. They're downsizing and can really use the space, and I really can't right now. I'll be on the lookout for a new space that has a window, but for now it's house calls only.

If you want to schedule a house call, just let me know!

I'm not charging extra for house calls for the duration of the pandemic.

Here are the practices I'm putting in place to make things as safe as possible:

  • Wear a mask and require the same from my clients

  • Sanitize equipment between each session

  • Work outside when possible, or if that's not possible, in a room with open windows

  • Ask my clients to reschedule for a later date if they feel at all sick, or if they have come into contact with anyone who is sick

Massage is still not recommended for people in higher risk groups, including:

People 65 years or older Chronic lung disease Moderate to severe asthma Heart disease Compromised or suppressed immunity BMI of 40 or higher Diabetes Chronic kidney disease Liver disease

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I hope to hear from you.

All the best,
